FAQ
Can I use evie outdoors?
Evie tealights have been designed to be used indoors. They are water resistant, but submersion may cause water to leak into the tealight and damage the electronics.
My remote control isn't working!
There are a few things to check.
The remote control is shipped with a plastic tab to preserve the battery life. Pull the yellow tab to remove the tab.
Evie tealights are shipped in "sleep" mode to preserve the battery charge and will not initially respond to the remote control. The tealight must first be placed on the charging station or turned on with the gray button on the bottom, after that the remote should work.
You can check the battery in the remote control. Flip the remote over, and gently pull on the battery tray. Make sure that the + side of the battery matches the + side of the battery tray.
You can replace the battery if necessary. Flip the remote over, and gently pull on the battery tray. Replace the battery with a fresh CR2032. Please dispose of the depleted battery responsibly, and KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN as it can be a choking hazard.
If all else fails, email us at info@evietealight.com or call (800) 838-5615.
Can I check the battery life remaining?
When you place or remove the evie from the charging station, the light will flash as follows:
3 flashes - more than halfway charged
2 flashes - more than one third charged
1 flash - less than one third charge
red - low charge, will not function until charged
The flashes will occur whether the evie is turned on or off.
During operation, if evie has less than 10 minutes of battery life left, the light will dim. Time for a full charge will vary but should not exceed 6 hours.
I think the product is great, but I have an idea!
This is our first product, please help us to improve by sending your ideas to info@evietealight.com. We also appreciate any comments, good or bad!
My evie is broken, what do I do?
We do our best to ship the highest quality parts, but we all know that things happen. There is a 6-month warranty for breakage or malfunction.
Email info@evietealight.com and include the date and place of your purchase, your physical address, and what is wrong. We are often able to send replacements.
If your evie lights up when you put it on the charger (not the normal flashing, but a steady light), it often helps to turn it off with the remote control and let it charge for a few hours. This can help to rehabilitate a depleted battery.
What is "Illumocity"?
The evie tealight is manufactured by Illumocity LLC and sold in partnership with glassybaby under the name evie tealight. The product was designed by Product Creation Studio in Seattle, WA, and the electronic components are built by Metaline in China.
Why the name evie?
After casting about for months, with deadlines looming, the name was finally inspired by a beautiful gray mare showjumper named Evithya, affectionately known as Evie. She shines, she sparkles, she’s talented, and everyone loves her.
